B Corp Certification

We're a B Corp. Here's what that actually means

We believe in doing things the right way. So we asked someone independent to come in and take a proper look at how we run our business: our people, our suppliers, our products, and our impact on the world around us. We're pleased to share that we passed. Eden Learning Spaces is officially B Corp certified.

What is B Corp certification?

B Corp certification is awarded by B Lab, a global non-profit that assesses businesses against rigorous standards of social and environmental performance. It's less like a tick-box exercise and more like a thorough, independent audit of how a business actually operates, aside from what it says about itself. It's genuinely hard to achieve. As of 2025, there are fewer than 3,000 certified B Corps in the UK. Eden is 1 of 33 in the North East. Certification requires transparency, accountability, and a willingness to identify where improvements are needed, then commit to making them.

A bit about us, if we've not met

Eden Learning Spaces was built on a simple belief: that the environment children learn in matters. We design soft seating and learning resources that support wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement. Developed in collaboration with teachers, academics, and learners, and built to last in the settings where children spend their days. From our base in the North East, our products are used in schools, nurseries, libraries, and learning spaces across the UK. That responsibility, to the children who use our products and the educators who choose them, shapes everything we do. Becoming a certified B Corp is an important milestone for us. It's independent recognition that we're building this business the right way: with accountability for how we design products, manage our supply chain, and treat the people around us. For us, it isn't the finish line. It's a commitment to keep raising the bar.

What it doesn't mean

B Corp doesn't mean we're perfect. It doesn't mean every product is the most sustainable option available, or that the work is done. What it does mean is that we've chosen to be measured properly, and that every few years, we have to prove we're improving. It keeps us honest, and it keeps us moving in the right direction.

What's next

Over the coming months we'll be sharing more about the certification process, what it involved, what we learned, and where we know we can do better. If you have any questions about what B Corp means for Eden, or how we run our business, we'd love to hear from you.
